We are looking for a data backup/protection engineer with experience in building and deploying large scale data protection solutions covering Isilon & SyncIQ and Cohesity, be involved in capacity planning and be responsible for large scale data backup migration of Databases, VMs. Other skills required
In this role, you should have a background in data protection and be passionate about data protection, automation and process improvements. We're looking for people who are upbeat and enthusiastic about IT, data and our company to help us guard the company's data.
You will interact with multiple business partners across IT, Business, Engineering, Security, DBA and networking both in region and globally so strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must.
Who we are looking for:
3+ years managing & architecting large scale Cohesity, Isilon SyncIQ or NetApp Snapmirror environments
Strong intermediate Linux skills and experience of managing of Cohesity and Isilon storage environments
Experience and Knowledge in multiple Windows, UNIX and/or Linux operating systems
Have experience with onboarding multiple data sources to our data protection solutions and making sure agreed data retention policies are met
Work closely with the storage build and operational teams - Work with key business partners to gather requirements and ensure their services are fully protected
Ensure data is protected via on-line and off-line backups & snapshots
Forecast expected storage demand for backups by understanding and predicting data growth and work with business partners to understand future growth and projects.
Be proactive with testing restores of critical systems to ensure RTO and RPO times meet business expectations
Be a vigilant steward of data integrity and availability, handling both tactical issues and suggesting strategies to improve these areas
Provide regular reports to management on health of global backup environment
Strong communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment who can interact with the technical and non-technical peers, management and customers.
