We are seeking hardware/firmware security engineer for Qualcomm penetration testing lab in Cork, Ireland. The Cork site is home to a range of digital IP teams working on cutting edge IP for the latest Snapdragon chip sets. The security lab team is working with the latest tools and techniques to perform hardware penetration testing.

Successful candidates will be joining a vibrant hardware security lab team, with a strong collaboration with several Qualcomm security labs around the global.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field.

• 2+ years hardware/firmware security, offensive hardware security, embedded system, hardware design, or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in hardware penetration testing, firmware design and/or penetration testing, evaluating security threats, vulnerabilities and countermeasures. Side-channel or Fault Injection attacks knowledge would be essential.

• Good understanding of cryptographic algorithms (., RSA, SHA, AES, DES), their implementation and use models within high level protocols.

• Good knowledge in statistical analysis and/or random generator entropy analysis.

• Familiarity with signal processing, data-analytics and machine-learning.

• Experience with programming and scripting languages.

• Familiarity with government standards and certification process.

• Good communication skills, curiosity and enthusiasm, ability to work independently and willingness to learn.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering

Preferred: Master/PhD's, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Embedded System
