Role Description

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team. You will play a key role not only in day-to-day operations but also in defining, documenting and improving accounting processes and procedures.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing structure, efficiency and clarity to accounting operations, while ensuring full compliance and data accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

Core accounting & reporting:

• Prepare and review monthly and annual trial balances, reconciliations and reports
• Participate in month end and year end closing processes
• Ensure compliance with all tax and fiscal regulations (VAT, profit tax, declarations, etc)
• Prepare and maintain accurate supporting documentation for all accounting records in line with local legislation and internal policies
• Collaborate with auditors during financial audits

Processes and procedures

• Work closely with Accounting Manager to define, document and implement accounting processes and internal procedures, ensuring consistency, clarity and efficiency
• Analyse existing workflows and identify opportunities to improve accuracy and reduce processing time
• Contribute to the development and maintenance the company’s Accounting policies and procedures manual
• Collaborate with cross functional teams (as Accounting Business Partner) to ensure the collaboration and also interdepartmental financial processes
• Participate in digitalization and automation projects (eg: ERP development)

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting;
• Minimum 7 years of experience in full cycle accounting
• Strong knowledge of Romanian accounting legislation
• Proven experience in process definition or improvement; Experience in Big 4 is a plus;
• Strong MS Office skills (Excel is mandatory, Power Point is a plus);
• Strong quantitative, analytical skills and very good in communication;
• English language skills – fluent;
