Job role

The Local Configuration Manager for the Allianz Germany Area will be part of the ITSM-Team of Allianz Technology Germany and closely collaborate with the Service Catalog & Service Level Management Team within the COO & CPO Function in Allianz Technology SE.

Configuration Management is the process focused on planning, identifying, controlling and verifying the Configuration Items (CIs) within a service and recording their status. 

The main goals of the process are to manage and protect the integrity of configuration items through the service lifecycle and ensure the integrity of configurations required to control the services and IT infrastructure by establishing and maintaining an accurate and complete configuration management database (CMDB).

The Configuration Management provides visibility of accurate representations of a service, release, or environment that enables better planning of changes and releases, improved Incidents and problems resolution as well as service levels and warranties to be delivered and better adherence to standards, legal and regulatory obligations thus delivering a very high value to business.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures management of  the Local Configuration data according to the global configuration management process
  • Ensures that the local Configuration Management is performed in full compliance of the global standard documentation process and procedures and established quality criteria
  • Acts as single point of contact and consultant for the application owners of Allianz Technology Germany for questions about the integration and documentation of new configuration items in the existing configuration management database in the central platform (Service Now)
  • Continuously improves the self-service online documentation for the application owners
  • Provides training material and training sessions
  • Analyzes requirements and provides improvement ideas for enhancements of the local configuration data in the central platform as well as for the related processes
  • Takes active part to the regular information exchange with the Global Configuration Management Process Owner 
  • Represents the Local Configuration Management function in various initiatives, projects and programs

Skills and requirements:

  • Experience in IT Operations Management disciplines
  • Experience with Service Catalog Management in ServiceNow
  • Preferable ITIL Foundation Certification  
  • Must be able to articulate messages across a variety of audiences
  • Self-driven and ability to work independently
  • Good degree of technical understanding and literacy
  • Good customer service, analytical, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Experience working with multicultural teams in diverse geographic locations
  • Working knowledge of MS-Office products for Windows
