Position Title: Part-Time IT Teacher – Teachstream Educational Program

Overview
Teachstream is a long-term educational initiative supporting children from Bucharest’s and Cluj’s Child Daycare Centers — including “Pinocchio,” “Sf. Pantelimon,” “Casa din Tei,” “Casa Speranței,” “Eu și prietenii mei,” “Sfânta Maria,” “Sf. Sofia,” and “Everychild.”
Our mission is to empower children from disadvantaged backgrounds by teaching Computer Science, Mathematics, and English, offering them access to technology and learning opportunities that can transform their future.

Purpose of the Role

The Part-Time IT Teacher will deliver engaging, practical lessons in digital literacy and introductory programming, following Teachstream’s established curriculum. The role combines teaching, mentoring, and motivation to help children build confidence, academic skills, and curiosity about technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver structured lessons on computer basics (hardware, operating systems, internet use) and introductory programming (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment where children can explore, make mistakes, and grow.
• Prepare and adapt teaching materials, exercises, and learning aids.
• Ensure the availability and functionality of learning tools, hardware, and software.
• Assess individual learning needs, monitor progress, and report achievements to the Teachstream coordination team.
• Use a variety of assessment methods to evaluate learning outcomes and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
• Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and self-reliance.
• Foster teamwork and positive peer interaction.

Requirements

• Graduation diploma in Computer Science or Mathematics or enrollment in a related undergraduate program (Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics).
• Completion of a psycho-pedagogy module or at least one year of relevant teaching experience with children.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Adaptable, proactive, and solution-oriented.
• Demonstrated empathy and ability to engage with children from diverse backgrounds.
• Train-the-Trainer certification is an advantage.
