Agronomic Research Specialist, 1 year external contract

Crop Science – Seed Production, Breeding Department – Slobozia, Ialomita

Responsible for Corn and Oil Seed Rape testing network operation, including network planning, planting preparation, precision planting, data collection with drone and other special equipment, and harvesting. Investigate and support the deployment of new technologies in automation and sensing for trait collection. Interprets and analyzes the captured data.

// Responsible, with high level of autonomy at internal testing hub, for testing field/site selection and field trial management to understand product performance at best, leading or co-leading regional (EMEA) projects related to development of new testing technologies and process optimization.

// Active participation on testing network planning and its characterization. Engaging with farmers/partners to collect appropriate data (environmental, management practices, etc).

// Operating research equipment like planters, tractors, combines and sensing devices for testing experiments.

// Collaborating with Local and regional Field Testing teams to ensure quality data and on time delivery to all stakeholders.

// Data analysis and report building based on captured data on the field.

// Active support to the Operational Coach to identify technical and operational needs for optimization, transformation and safe operation.

// Engage with EMEA region and Global Breeding teams to deliver initiatives and global strategies.

// Relate to the Operational Coach to identify the technical needs and the importance.

// Management of seasonal workers to conduct all testing activates properly and safely.

// Implementation and compliance with the company safety rules and follow the general rules in the station, focusing the machine and equipment HSE rules.

// Education: Agricultural Engineering and MSc with relevant years of experience.

// Broad knowledge of crop production, crop protection, farming practices and equipment management.

// Good communication skills.

// Fluent in English.

// Excellent organizational and record keeping skills.

// Project management, Planning and good collaboration skills are needed.

// Strong Computer skills with relevant data science knowledge (Python, Big Queries Machine learning frameworks).

// Willingness to travel locally and abroad.

// Ability to work independently as well as in a team-based environment.

// Open mindset for new ways of operations and technology.

// Driving license.
