Reporting to: Operations Manager

Job purpose:

Coordinate the implementation of Transport Policy of the company following the indications of Operations Manager

Plan and coordinate the road haulage, distribution and transport operations, routes and Schedule

Ensure that goods reach the Customer on time and in the most cost-efficient way

Guarantee that all operations are carried out in line with local and EU laws and regulations governing vehicle safety, environmental controls on fuel emissions, working hours, customs requirements and food transportationKey

Responsibilities:

Ensure the execution of defined strategy

Ensure the implementation of adequate tactics within the Transport Department. Is responsible to feed the Budget Process and in her / his responsibility area

Plan, implement, control and optimize all processes within the Transport Department based on the defined standards

Ensure optimal utilization of capacities

Schedule vehicle maintenance and arrange vehicle replacements if applicable. Is accountable for planning, budget and end results in her/his area of responsibility

Control cost to ensure productivity

Monitor and provide transport performance reports. Monitor volume, quality and timely delivery of goods. Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis in alignment with the Group standards

Provide training, monitor quantity and quality of work, coaches employees and is responsible for the employee satisfaction

Responsible for motivating, coordinating and controlling the H&S management system in her / his area of influence and responsibility

Take over and carry out preventive actions determined in H&S procedures. Will participate in "pro-active" form developing H&S activity, encouraging efficient behaviors, detecting shortcomings and searching for solutions

Key accountabilities:

Ensure that all the standards regarding equipment are met and place actions plans to correct deviations. Ensure that quality, delivery and budget objectives are met. Comply to all operation standards, as well as customers’ quality and security standards

Measure the performance of the Transport area and its employees and provide staff counselling, training and instruction if required. Manage human resources issues (. compensation, recruiting) in coordination with Personnel Admin

Ensure customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, social compliance and company culture

Ideal Background:

Bachelor Degree, ideally in Logistics

Good level of English spoken and writtenExperience

Five years of experience at Traffic Departments of Transport/Logistics companies

Professional Skills:

Very good team building and leadership capabilities

Problem Solving, continuous improvement and teamwork attitude

High customer orientation

Dynamic and ready to work in different situations and environments having good results

Good command of MS Office, ILOs, Catellae

Global vision of the supply chain process, route planning optimization, costs and KPI's controlling, people management
