Position description

As the Software Engineering Tech Lead you will be responsible for not only leading the development but also working closely with the founder to develop the architecture, standards and managing the full SDLC.

You will need to solve problems with pragmatic solutions and know when to make trade offs between complexity and shipping quickly

Venturing into the unknown, the client is at the intersection of no-code, fintech, and data analytics. You will be doing a lot of things that have not really been explored yet and have to come up with unique solutions to hard problems.

To ensure success in this role you will need to be able to work autonomously, lead from the front, be detail oriented and have extensive experience and superb coding skills ( & Typescript).

Software Engineering Tech Lead Responsibilities:

As a founding engineer you will be wearing many hats; moving between the product or having to create a new CI/CD workflow. Here are some of the things the client has worked on recently.

Creating new SDKs for different programming languages.

Adding new endpoints to our APIs that our customers can easily integrate with.

Building a data tool that tells customers about their user trends within plans.

Troubleshooting a pesky API call that shows high latency.

Software Engineering Tech Lead Requirements:

  • 7+ years of working with with 2+ of those leading complex technical projects
  • Excellent knowledge of Typescript
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with
  • Excellent knowledge and experience writing high quality, clean and simple and efficient code
  • Good knowledge and experience with DevOps and (nice to have) experience working with Render
  • Experience working with setting up deployment pipelines and working with Github Actions (CI/CD)
  • Good experience working with NestJS Framework
  • Good experience working with PostgreSQL
  • Good experience with GraphQL
  • (nice to have) experience working with Prisma ORM
  • Experience working in a high growth “scrappy” startup

Ideal candidate

You have led development teams at startup/s, preferably in the fintech space. You need to be able to not only work autonomously but also provide guidance, mentorship and manage developers when necessary.
