The Digital Innovation Team is responsible for researching and developing smart technologies that are used to improve existing processes and products or to create new products. The scope of smart technologies covers artificial intelligence and machine learning, automated information retrieval & extraction, and digital

The team operates as part of Sustainalytics’ Information and Communication Technology Team and has the following main goals: research and development of smart technologies, incorporation of developed solutions into the company workflows, servicing the ongoing operation and maintenance of smart technology-based processes.


  • Lead the activities of the Software Development sub-team of the Digital Innovation Team;
  • Write high-quality code across the full-stack to technically drive the product forward and keep it aligned with business requirements;
  • Review code and give feedback to help development sub-team grow and embrace efficient and sustainable development practice;
  • Stay engaged with state of the art technologies, development best practices and foster knowledge sharing and cohesion between team members;
  • Manage the quality control process by keeping the QA in the development loop and provide the QA specialist with guidance and oversight;
  • Interface with Product Managers, Head of Software or other stakeholders to define and schedule roadmap;
  • Report to management on productivity, quality, and system performance;
  • Build/maintain the relationship with other software development teams, act as a point of contact and continuously assess the interdependencies, communicate changes and plans across the organization;
  • Collaborate with Software Architects team to make technical stack and architecture decisions;
  • Analyze and bring meaningful input to our Agile development process;



  • Full stack technical expertise: Angular, C#, AWS and/or Azure Cloud, Relational databases;
  • Architecture + DevOps experience for a product at scale: Microservices architecture, TeamCity & Octopus or any other CI/CD pipeline stack;
  • Technical management experience for digital products;
  • 5+ years of experience in software development;
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in team management;
  • Excellent collaboration skills to lead the rest of the tech team and interface with our core development teams;
  • Experience with big data platforms or artificial intelligence platforms is a plus;
