The role can be based in different locations across Europe and will require travel to our projects within the Temenos defined European Region - depending on business

 

The Senior Consultant is responsible for providing high level support and expertise in one or more implementation areas of the product throughout the stages of TEMENOS products implementation projects. The Senior Consultant focuses especially on more complex issues, and provides guidance and coaching to less experienced Consultants.

 

The Senior Consultant is capable of working with clients or partners in leading the implementation of a specific product as part of the overall project delivery. Able to handle day to day challenges and owning the resolution of issues as they arise. The Senior Consultant will have a detailed level knowledge on a minimum of one particular product area, whilst also displaying similar awareness of industry and market trends/behaviours. A strong information sharing contribution to their aligned Centre of Excellence and input on Product and Process Improvement is also expected.  

 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

 

·Focus on more complex functional problems, generally without day-to-day supervision or direction. Provide guidance and advice to less experienced consultants in case of complex functional issues during the implementation and client relationships development. Has strong proficiency in the tools, systems, procedures that are used to accomplish the job

·Demonstrate strong Stakeholder Management Skills with all contacts.

·Successfully implement respective Product specialism.

·Take a lead role in ensuring the contribution of others adds value.

·Coordinate with the TEMENOS maintenance groups to ensure that the product problems identified are understood and resolved

·The Senior Technical Consultant is expected to specialize in at least one of the following technical areas:

o   Technical architecture and best use of TEMENOS Client services tools,

 

o   Configuration of TEMENOS products or interfaces with the product, according to the definitions supplied,

 

o   Data migration and related activities.

 

·Identify, define and coordinate any development activities that may occur during the implementation of TEMENOS products, such as additional specific functionality, interfacing to external systems or conversion programs to be built

·Install custom enhancements and validate technical setup and conduct necessary testing to ensure user acceptance and global quality of the solution delivered

·Advise the client on the setting up of a production environment and on the running of the T24/TCB products including database administration

·Provide clear and concise technical documentation

·Conduct client technical training as necessary

·Identify and validate any gaps together with proposals for their resolution (. workarounds or changes in processes) and ensure any solutions proposed are realistic and within the agreed scope of the project

·Conduct parts or all of the User training in a subject, which includes design, customization and update of Training Materials and Handouts

·Perform such other duties, functions and services, consistent with status or vocational ability, as may from time to time be required.

·The role requires substantial travel – normally on client site Monday to Friday and back at weekends, however there may be periods where they will be expected to extend the periods away from home with TOIL given to compensate

 

Certifications

 

TEMENOS certifications: minimum one technical domain

 

The Senior Technical Consultant is required to be TEMENOS certified or to acquire TEMENOS certification within a limited timeframe (to be agreed with manager) in minimum one technical domain.

 

A certification is considered valid as long as the consultant has:

 

1°) successfully passed the certification examination at the end of the training session

AND

2°) successfully implemented the module at client site during the course of significant projects.

AND

3°) successfully completed assigned work packages with positive client feedback on work delivered

 

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

·Educational & Proficiency level: Professional with a minimum of seven years of experience in software technical consultancy 

·Language skills: Must be fluent in English – verbal and written. Additional language skills would be of benefit

·Technical knowledge: INFOBASIC, JAVA, ORACLE 9 (or above) operating systems, knowledge and familiarity with the functionality of UNIX, AS400 and NT, particularly disc structures. Exposure to mainframes.

  • Understands at a good level industry concepts such as:

o   Java VMs and artefacts (WAR and EAR files), performance tuning, JMS

o   Concepts for Integration (. Integration of data or user accounts between multiple systems for a client.)

o   Componentisation of applications

o   Role of an ESB for event driven messaging and orchestration

o   Concepts for Internet Security, Intranet security, cryptography, data tampering, firewalls

o   Single Sign On concepts / supported solutioLDAP / Active Directory

o   Approach to Process Workflow and Human Workflow – jBPM exposure an advantage

o   Web Services

o   Penetration; stress and performance testing

·Product knowledge: Strong awareness of Industry and market developments, good overall company knowledge

·ther: This job involves complex activities demanding considerable coordination to effectively achieve the jobs end results. Awareness of other jobs in the project team is necessary as the job activities either influence or are influenced by these.
