The Role

We’re looking for a Operations and People Manager to help build our awesome team while preserving and improving upon our culture, working environment, and productivity.

This role will encompass a broad operational role - from keeping track of accounts and ensuring the office runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis, as well as a significant focus on people operations and HR - recruitment, on-boarding, employer branding, training and performance management. Finding, keeping, and getting the best from a talented team is key to our success, so you’ll have a huge strategic and operational impact on the company.

It’s a fast paced environment but we’ll give you the support you need to thrive. It is anticipated that this role will be devided roughly equally between office management, recruitment and optimisation of people management processes.

Main responsibilities

Office tasks

  • Organizing the office layout and ordering stationery and equipment
  • Maintaining the office condition and arranging necessary repairs
  • Update and maintain office policies as necessary
  • Organize office operations and procedures
  • Manage contract and price negotiations with office vendors, service providers and office lease
  • Address employees queries regarding office management issues (. stationery, Hardware and travel arrangements)
  • Maintenance, mailing, supplies, bills, salaries and taxes.

Source and attract great people: Finding ways to build a hiring pipeline so that we can fill open roles with the right people, faster - a key focus here will be building our employer brand.

Process improvement: Analysing existing processes to find and implement ways to improve the hiring and selection process.

Own the recruitment process: Running the recruitment process from start to finish, from finding candidates, reviewing applications, scheduling and assisting with interviews, delivering feedback, making offers, and getting people through the door.

On-boarding with excellence: Ensuring a smooth on-boarding process, and planning appropriately so that new team members always have what they need on day 1.

Scaling the learning curve: Helping the team to learn and develop quickly, from organising training to planning and following up on quarterly reviews

World-class retention: We have outstanding retention at present, but it's essential that we don't lose focus on this and continuing to optimise.

This is a temporary appointment, envisaged to be initially for 15 months with the potential for extension.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate

  • Experience as an IT Recruiter, Office manager, Front office manager or Administrative assistant or any other relevant role.
  • Creative, analytical, and able to solve problems: a lot of the job will be thinking about what kinds of people we want to join the company, how to find them, and how to convince them to join the team. It won’t all be easy.
  • Meticulous, organised and detail orientated: have the ability to stay highly organised with great attention to detail and be able to meet the deadlines.
  • Empathetic and persuasive: you’ll need to sell your initiatives to management, understand people’s needs, wants and desires, and convince people at all levels to join the company.
  • Hungry to develop: we want people who actively grow their skills and take on more responsibilities quickly. A large part of the job is growing the company, so you’ll need to be able to grow with it.
  • Impeccable standards of confidentiality and discretion
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Apps
  • Excellent written and spoken English
