Context of the job:

Job mission:

Cegeka is a System Integrator that provides Managed Services for multiple customers across Europe on a 24 by 7 basis. The CGMSC (Cegeka Global Managed Services Centre) Division provides remote management and monitoring services for complex IT infrastructures.

As the CGMSC Monitoring Coordinator, you will fulfil a crucial role in our multi-customer organization. You are part of the CGMSC Engineering Team and you are the sole technical responsible for defining and maintain monitoring standards across the environments and technologies that we support.

Position responsibilities:

Build and maintain the standard monitoring plan for CGMSC managed technologies and for future services;

Coordinate with the teams managing the monitoring applications to ensure that the applications are aligned with the standard monitoring plan requirements;

Work towards creating and maintaining integrations between the monitoring tools and additional tools (patching solutions, CMDB, etc.) in order to automate day-to-day tasks and maintenances;

Work towards creating correlations between the monitored objects (for instance avoid alerts from child objects if parents have already triggered the alarms);

Work towards a unified monitoring approach for all customers;

Provide on demand consulting for technical transitions and monitoring setups;

Keep an overview of the active structural issues within the monitoring setup and facilitates their resolve;

Ensure the accuracy and consistency of the active addendums to the standard monitoring plan;

Define the list of prerequisites needed from the operational teams so that monitoring applications can be correctly deployed for existing and future services;

Define the list of prerequisites the environments must meet in order to be monitored (access rights, firewall rules, minimum hardware requirements, etc..) for existing and future services;

Provide 3rd line support for System Center Operation Manager managed environments;

Implement major changes for System Center Operation Manager managed environments;

Maintain a strict adherence to change management procedures before performing any change;

Accurate ticket documentation of the support request and troubleshooting steps taken;

Take ownership and responsibility for all tasks assigned;

Ensure deadlines of own tasks are respected;

Provide assistance to application teams for SCOM integrations;

Create and modify the technical procedures, manuals and processes for monitoring projects;

Interact with 3rd party providers in order to address functional issues of monitoring applications;

Interact with the Customer, by positively exposing Cegeka during the direct communication with customers;

Work in close collaboration with your colleagues to ensure that service delivery to the customer is of the highest standard;

Work in accordance with the Cegeka quality standards, procedures, processes and internal regulations;

Attend trainings, team meetings and operational meetings;

Provide technical training for operation teams when needed or when new tools are adopted/ are integrated within the monitoring environment.

Technical skills:

Expert knowledge of Microsoft System Centre Operations Manager;

Solid knowledge of Nagios or a similar monitoring application;

Solid scripting knowledge (VBs and PowerShell are a must);

Solid knowledge of server operating systems: Windows Server, Windows Server 2008 (R2), Windows Server 2012 (R2); Linux/ Unix;

Solid knowledge with hardware monitoring tools: HPSIM/ IBM Director/ Dell Open Manage;

Good knowledge of TCP/ IP & communication: LAN/ WAN/ VPN;

Good knowledge of Virtualization Solutions;

Good knowledge of Storage Area Networks is a plus;

Knowledge of SQL/Databases & Citrix is a plus;

JSON and RESTful knowledge is a big plus.

Python knowledge is a big plus.
