The overall purpose of the position is to ensure the Branch Office is meeting all regulatory and legislative requirements. The main responsibility is to provide support and assistance to business units from a legal perspective, and act as a local compliance and AML advisor.
Give accurate and timely advice to management and peer functions in a variety of legal topics (insurance law, general civil law, data protection, labour law, corporate and finance etc.).
Draft and solidify insurance terms and conditions (both general and manuscript), insurance distribution agreements and other insurance product component documents.
Participate in negotiating major underwriting and claims transactions and non-routine transactions or contracts.
Draft and solidify non-insurance agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights.
Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance with them. Assist in setting up and implementing legal policies, procedures, guidelines and best practices.
Collaborate with management to devise efficient legal strategies. Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders. Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues.
