On behalf of our client, one of the most important players in the banking sector that offers innovative banking services to its customers, we are now looking for an experienced professional to take on the role of Head of Internal Audit in Bucharest.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft risk-based annual audit plans, present them for approval to Audit Committee / Supervisory Board and ensure their proper and timely implementation
  • Supervise the preparation and execution of regular audits engagements and follow up work concerning all areas of the bank’s operations (compliance and process audits)
  • Manage and develop the staff in the Internal Audit Department
  • Provide team members with guidance, training and assistance
  • Manage the budget of the audit function;
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of bank’s audit methodology and techniques
  • Carry out special audits when necessary
  • Understand and support the corporate mission of the bank


Requirements

  • BSc in Economics
  • 4+ years of senior management internal/external audit experience, ideally in an international company, at Head of Audit level or equivalent. Alternatively a Senior Auditor / Senior Manager level professional from a top four auditing firm specialising in Internal Audit / Risk Management
  • Mandatory - Member of the Council of the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania (CAFR)
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Over 2 years of proven working experience in the banking industry
  • Proficient user of the English language (written & oral)
  • Proficient in risks identification and evaluation
  • Strong commercial acumen and gravitas to interact persuasively with executive level management and board members
  • Resilience and preparedness to accept international travel commitments
