The primary role of the Compliance Officer will be providing support to the ING Compliance community in preserving the integrity of the bank’s information barriers and managing the flow of Inside Information. The role involves helping ING businesses to manage the Chinese Wall Crossing process.
Your work environment
The new team of Compliance Officers is dedicated to support the global Compliance function on various Compliance related activities to ensure the Compliance risks are adequately managed. Collaboration and cooperation within the IGCC is based on knowledge and expertise, and uses data analytics where possible.
Working with a variety of internal stakeholders offers an environment which not only provides the global overview on how the various Compliance requirements and controls are embedded, yet also provides the opportunity the further support the enhancement of the global control framework.
The above translates to the following (non-exclusive) set of Compliance framework activities:
•Analysis of deals proposed and identifying potential conflicts of interest, where –if required- the business and/or the local Compliance Officer must be contacted/consulted to obtain further insights;
•Propose mitigating measures in accordance with the Policy and Standards;
•Ensuring the relevant lists, . the Watch and Restricted list, are always actual and managed in an efficient way;
•In collaboration with the local Compliance Officer, assist the local business in safeguarding and preventing the inadvertent spread of inside information through the administration of the Chinese Walls crossing procedures;
•Review research reports to identify potential issues with applicable laws and Policies;
•Provide advice, guidance and support on regulatory issues as required;
•Draft reports and management information for the businesses as well as the Compliance function.
What you bring to the team?
We are looking for a motivated new colleague who has the following characteristics:
•Proven knowledge and expertise in the Compliance domain;
•Experience within a Control Room environment is a plus;
•A team player with strong interpersonal skills who is able to operate in a diversified and multicultural work environment;
•Strong and effective communication skills – fluent in written and spoken English;
•Excellent analytical skills as well as a keen eye for detail to . identify and articulate Compliance related aspects;
•Basic understanding of legislation, economy and commerce, and the ability to link them into business processes and products;
•Ability to perform risk assessments, Compliance monitoring and reporting as well as quality assurance related activities;
•Willing to travel internationally if needed.
