Main responsibilities

You will join a team of strong software engineers that lead full cycle development of middleware solutions which are enabling for a wide range of industries we serve.

This includes highly reliable and scalable communication services which connects enterprise's IT and OT areas, cloud with on-premise systems.

As part of most modern industrial control solution, the central part (middleware) consists on architectures based on open standards communication foundations (OPC, OPC UA, MQTT, REST) which offer secure and reliable connectivity between different layers of the control solution respectively other enterprise resources (MES, ERP, SCADA, data lakes, ML/AI, other).

Based on more than 20 years of experience, Softing is one of the most complete worldwide provider of OPC expertise (see ). 

Our R&D center in Cluj-Napoca is proud to contribute in a determinant way to the success of the Data Intelligence products range (DataFEED OPC Suite, DataFEED Secure Integration Server, Edge Connectors for Azure Iot Edge and and AWS IoT Greengrass)

Skills we would like you to have:

• C++
• Qt
• Scripting Languages (such as Python and JavaScript)
• Databases (SQL, NoSQL)
• Communication services (REST, Message Brokers)
• Optional web development technologies (HTML/CSS, Node, JavaScript frameworks etc)
• Optional knowlege of industrial communication technologies (OPC UA, Fieldbuses, other protocols)
• Virtualization, Containers and modern distributed application deployment
• Advanced level of English (both reading and writing)
• Good communication skills
