Automation Architect

Software robots using RPA technology and analytics from Dell-EMC’s Business Data Lake power low-value maintenance contract quoting for Dell-EMC products.  The Automation Architect will be the lead designer to transform this pilot program into an industry leading, robust digital workforce.  They will take a solid understanding of the business, current operational processes, and lessons learned from the pilot to create a new approach and framework.  They’ll leverage good design principles and architecture methodologies to create a robust and scalable platform to meet current and future needs.  The Automation Architect is also involved in developing and setting the standards and guidelines by which all automation work within Global Renewals Quoting will be measured and implemented.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a technical team in developing innovative solutions to complex business problems
  • Lead research, design, planning, and implementation efforts to automate business processes
  • Lead solution architecture reviews
  • Design solutions in close partnership with business operations
  • Document standards, solutions, data flows, procedures, and other technical information as required
  • Evaluate and apply emerging technologies to meet current or emerging business needs
  • Provides master-level technical support to technical staff within the appropriate discipline
  • Mentor members of the technical staff

Essential Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8+ years with a Master’s degree;
  • Experience designing and developing process based solutions with focus on best practices in automation architecture (design / coding / version control / production)
  • Highly experienced in software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies
  • Experience with robotic process automation (Automation Anywhere preferred)
  • SQL programming - PostgreSQL is used to extract data from Business data lake, Experience with database ETL, spreadsheet, and data retrieval methods.
  • Expert level understanding of data structures, data warehouses/schema. Experience using Tableau or similar data visualization tools
  • Data-savvy, critical thinker with strong attention to detail and high quality standards as well as strong communication skills, ability to influence others to achieve results, consultative, mentoring & coaching skills

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with R, Python, and Hadoop helpful
