This position is an opportunity to play a pivotal part in the next wave of our growth in the Financial Services Sector. Traditionally the banking industry has not embraced public cloud technology and this an opportunity to get ahead of the pack in being involved in one of the first platforms built for a consortium to use Google Cloud Platform. It’s fair to say the projects and technologies is changing the way that the financial services sector is creating applications.
Thrive on giving a great support experience to customers, managing, logging and tracking defects from open to close.
Oversee proactive operational monitoring where necessary application administrative services.
Want to solve complex technical issues with Google and Appsbroker technology, brainstorming with the Appsbroker Platform Engineering Team, Google Support and working closely with customer technical and business teams.
Identify, test and release in a controlled manner (with auditable testing, sign off and back out plans), configuration bug fixes and software updates. There will be a significant level of environment management / techops work involved in this role.
Become an expert on Google Cloud Platform technologies including: Container Engine, Kubernetes, BigQuery, CloudSQL, Compute Engine.
Other technologies the are used include: Docker, RabbitMQ, Prometheus, Maven, Java, Flyway, Networking, Git, Gitlab CI, Spring, FIX Protocol (Financial Information eXchange)

This job is for you if you have the following
BS in Computer Science or related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience
2 + year of experience in Application Support & Operations in a 2nd or 3rd line role preferably in an ITIL environment. Activities would include bespoke software application troubleshooting, or interrogating check logs and traces
Exposure to environmental change control processes and configuration/release management.
Ability to speak directly to customers (either technical or business teams), evidenced with demonstrable experience and excellent English, written and verbal
Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively cross-functionally within Appsbroker with both Platform Engineering teams and the wider technical team
And you're extra awesome if you've got these too:
Database configuration and management ideally with NoSQL databases
Any application test experience (automated would be a bonus)
Coding / scripting skills in one or more of the following languages: Python, Java, PHP, Perl or C++.
Understanding of networking SSL/Encryption/Security protocols
A Googly working atmosphere in modern offices
