General Role Description
Understand in depth the primary applications assigned to them and the implication on the business and the end to end system when changes are proposed.
Minimum 2 years providing Application Support across Java and .NET applications
Have excellent communication skills as liaising with business users is a key part of this
Produce documentation that is clear and written at an appropriate level for the audience.
Key responsibilities include
A high end user of the application the Application Specialist understands in great depth all areas of the primary application they are aligned too. In addition they have a very good understanding of how and where data from that application is used. How applications integrated to the primary application work should also be considered and where these applications have an impact on the primary application.
Application Specialists liaise with end-users and other relevant teams to ensure they understand how current and future changes in the business and its changing priorities will affect the application.
Documentation produced by the Application Specialist should explain and describe the primary application and any interfaces to other applications.
Good communications skills and the ability to explain technical concepts in layman’s terms is key as they will need to support and advise users in the business where these users need information and support around the primary and associated applications
Ability to provide cross application support and happy to specialize in multiple applications
Testing of new functionality and integrations
Incident resolution using ServiceNow
Strong understanding of Microsoft Dynamics, Finance and Operations (AX)
Experience of working on full life cycle implementations across multiple versions of Dynamics 365
Excellent understanding and knowledge of core Microsoft Dynamics 365 modules
Microsoft SQL Server understanding
Microsoft Azure understanding
Experience in supporting Java and .NET applications
Good SQL (MS SQL Server or Oracle)
Good understanding of Web Services
Ability to create high quality functional documentation and strong requirements gathering
Troubleshooting, Problem solving, creative thinking
Basic understanding of AGILE/SCRUM methodologies
ITIL v3 Foundation certification
