Job Purpose

 Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils, promote pupils’ independence, self-esteem

and social inclusion. Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in

learning and experience a sense of achievement

 Duties and Responsibilities

To be an effective professional who enjoys working with children, understands how they learn and is dedicated to creating a nurturing learning atmosphere for every student.

Planning, Teaching and Class Management

• Demonstrate an informed and efficient approach to teaching and learning by adopting relevant strategies to support the work of the teacher and increase achievement of all pupils including, where appropriate, those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
• Observe pupil performance and pass observations on to the class teacher.
• To cover and lead class teaching (under supervision) as and when appropriate.
• Use ICT skills to advance pupils’ learning
• providing pastoral care and support to children and providing them with a secure environment to learn;
• organizing learning materials and resources and making imaginative use of resources;
• assisting with the development of children's personal, social and language abilities;
• assist in developing lesson plans based on state requirements and the specific needs of each child
• collaborate with teachers to monitor the development of each child
• understand the teacher’s routine when it comes to delivering a lesson plan and running the class in the event that the teacher is absent on a particular day
• supporting the development of children's basic skills, including physical coordination, speech and communication;
• establish and enforce rules for behavior, and policies and procedures to maintain order among students.
• working with others, including nursery nurses, to plan and coordinate work both indoors and outdoors;
• attending in-service training;
• ensuring the health and safety of children and staff is maintained during all activities, both inside and outside the nursery or school;
• keeping up to date with changes in the curriculum and developments in best practice.

• Bachelor /Master Degree
