As part of our growth, we are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior VAT Consultant with a strong focus on indirect taxes (VAT), compliance reporting, and liaison with tax authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review the VAT treatment of complex transactions, including intra‑community operations, complex local supplies and acquisitions, imports, exports, digital services, OSS schemes, and reverse charge mechanisms and provide tax advisory services to clients mainly on these topics.
• Interpret local and EU VAT legislation and provide recommendations for accurate and tax structures.
• Coordinate and review VAT returns (e.g., VAT return, EC Sales Listing, VAT informative statements) and related tax filings.
• Manage VAT adjustments, including pro‑rata calculations, capital goods adjustments, annual regularizations, and deduction changes.
• Oversee digital compliance processes such as SAF‑T, e‑Invoice, e‑VAT, e_Transport and other electronic reporting files.
• Prepare documentation and handle communication with tax authorities during tax audits.
• Review clients’ internal procedures and propose improvements to reduce tax exposure.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all VAT-related matters for assigned clients.
• Manage multiple compliance or advisory projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams (accounting, audit, payroll, legal) to deliver integrated and aligned solutions.
• Mentor and support junior and mid-level team members.
• Contribute to internal improvement initiatives, methodology development, and knowledge-sharing efforts.
• Prepare training materials, presentations, and deliver workshops internally or externally on VAT topics.

Requirements:

• University degree in economics, taxation, accounting, or related fields.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant VAT experience, ideally in Big4, tax advisory firms, or BPO/SSC environments.
• Strong knowledge of Romanian and EU VAT legislation.
• Familiarity with digital tax reporting (SAF‑T, e‑Invoice).
• Excellent analytical, communication, planning, and problem‑solving skills.
• Advanced English level.
