Simply put: more sustainable, more efficient, and more flexible. mopla is an independent and open mobility platform that enables flexible transport services and on-demand mobility in an economically and environmentally sound way. Not just in metropolitan areas like Berlin and Munich, but very deliberately in rural areas too. Anywhere, really. 

Your Tasks and Responsibilities 

• Design, implementation, and maintenance of backend services in Java and Spring Boot 
• Ownership of selected domain components such as dispatching, booking, pricing, or driver assignment 
• Design and further development of interfaces and APIs 
• Working with relational databases, in particular PostgreSQL, including performant database queries 
• Performance optimization, profiling, and scaling of services 
• Conducting code reviews and mentoring junior and mid-level developers 
• Contributing to architectural decisions and the technical roadmap within the mopla domain 
• Close collaboration with Product Owners and DevOps on feature planning, deployment, and monitoring 
• Contributing to test automation through unit, integration, and contract tests 

Your Skills 

Must-have: 

• Completed degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification 
• At least 5 years of professional experience in Java backend development 
• In-depth expertise in Spring Boot, particularly in Dependency Injection, Web, Data, and Security 
• Very strong knowledge of relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL 
• Experience with distributed systems and microservice architectures 
• Solid testing knowledge 
• Confident use of Git, CI/CD, and cloud environments 

Nice-to-have: 

• Knowledge of Kubernetes or cloud-native operating practices 
• Experience in ticketing, ridehailing, logistics, or with dispatch/routing algorithms
