Randstad Digital is looking for a new colleague to join the current team and work in an international environment as a Middle Accountant and support the European accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing support to the finance team, and executing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes. 

Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, bank reconciliation, fixed assets management (capitalization and depreciation) ensuring timely and accurate entries.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare financial reports, variance analyses, and supporting schedules for management review.
• Assist with the preparation of tax filings, audits, and statutory reporting.
• Review and validate financial data to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing relevant financial data and insights.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper documentation and understanding of financial transactions.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance function.

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of experience in accounting or a similar financial role.
• Solid understanding of accounting concepts, including debits and credits, and the ability to correctly record supplier invoices.
• Knowledge of accruals and provision accounting, depreciation calculation, deferred costs.
• Ability to properly account for subscriptions/annual contracts, including allocating costs monthly (expense splitting over the subscription period).
• Ability to read and interpret financial statements, including the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statement.
• Advanced German language skills, both written and spoken.
• Advanced English language skills, both written and spoken.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Nice to have: familiarity with Google Workspace applications, with a specific focus on Google Sheets.
