Finance/Accounting Professional on behalf of our client

On behalf of our client, operating in the Defence and Automotive manufacturing industry, KPMG Romania is looking to recruit a qualified and experienced professional for the position of Finance & Accounting Professional.

The role covers day‑to‑day accounting and financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform daily accounting activities in accordance with Romanian GAAP
• Prepare bookkeeping entries, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and provisions
• Support timely and accurate month‑end and year‑end closing processes
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and assist with trial balance reviews
• Maintain proper documentation and support internal control requirements
• Assist with preparation and submission of VAT, corporate income tax, withholding tax, and other statutory declarations
• Ensure compliance with Romanian fiscal legislation
• Assist with coordination of external tax advisors or consultants, when required
• Support tax audits and inspections
• Assist with daily cash‑flow monitoring and liquidity tasks
• Support payment processes and banking transactions
• Collaborate with external consultancy partners
• Escalate complex technical accounting, tax, or legal matters when needed
• Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting
• Assist with monitoring budget vs. actual performance and preparing variance explanations

Key qualifications:

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles in Romania
• Knowledge of Romanian accounting standards and tax legislation
• Experience performing daily finance operations independently
• Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is considered an advantage
• Working knowledge of SAP
• Strong command of MS Excel
• Experience with ERP‑based reporting environments
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Good communication and collaboration abilities
• Availability to travel for business purposes, depending on operational needs
• Fluent Romanian
• Good command of English (written and spoken)
