The Department of Arts and Sciences (BASc) is the home of the interdisciplinary arts and sciences degree programmes in UCL. Based on the main Bloomsbury campus, the department has a student body of 420 undergraduates and 50 affiliates. Students who wish to spend their third undergraduate year studying in an overseas institution register for the Arts and Sciences with Study Abroad programme and typicallystudents take up this opportunity each year. The role of the International and Affiliates Officer (IAO) is to run our Study Abroad programme for the outgoing undergraduate students and incoming affiliate students. In particular, to manage partnership agreements with international and Erasmus institutions to enable BASc students to study abroad on programmes which are in line with their own pathway module combinations; to improve the recruitment of independent affiliate students; and to support these students while they are at UCL. You will be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) and have solid relevant experience in an HE administrative environment and, preferably, prior experience of administering international student recruitment and affairs in a UK university. A confident self-starter with excellent communication skills, you will represent UCL to potential students and partner institutions. A team player, you will be able to plan, find solutions to problems and coordinate recruitment activities. Skills in IT are essential, as is the ability to work closely and productively with the academic community at all levels of seniority.
