Medical director in Muritius

Candidat must have diploma as medical doctor- licence in medicine + diploma in health management and 1 years of experience.

Must speak English.

There are also incentives and bonus according to the performances.

Normal Working Hours – Monday – Friday – 8am – 5pm. But as head of department, he may be required to do extra hours. Min 40 hours a week

The Remuneration package – Rs 300k monthly

aSalary – RsK monthly

Housing Allowance – Rs 45K monthly

Company Car + Fuel Allowance Rs10k monthly

dPerformance Bonus entitlement depending on Company performance and other indicators -

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the Business Plan:
  • Ensure the generation of revenue

Organize and regulate the clinical and ancillary services as per the Business Plan.

Ensure that the employees are motivated to achieve the targets of the Business Plan.

Manage and ensure coordination within medical and non-medical services to deliver on service quality standards

Act as the Custodian for Clinical and non-clinical protocols at unit level and ensure high standards of patient care

  • Set up & ensure the regular functioning of the following clinical committees, in consultation with the COO
  • Hospital Medical Council

Clinical Governance Committee

Hospital Infection Control Committee

Academic Council.

Pharmacy Therapeutic Council

Quality Management Services

Monitor Diagnostic facilities (Radiology, Pathology and blood bank) to ensure service quality levels

Ensure proper upkeep & confidentiality of medical records & patient documentation

Monitor Infection Control Department to ensure efficient functioning

Monitor and guide functioning of Dietetics department to ensure service quality

Monitor and guide functioning of Wards, ICUs and OT to ensure service quality

Work closely with the nursing superintendent and take all necessary steps to ensure high standards of patient care. Ensure that proper procedures are in place for the efficient admission, care & discharge of patients.

Coordinate the entire operations of the CSSD for the smooth functioning of the supplies to & fro to various areas of the hospital. Ensure waste management is as per government norms

Coordinate with the Emergency team for all medico-legal cases received at the hospital.

Biomedical Equipment

  • Liase with users on biomedical equipment purchase and maintenance

  • Plan and control Overall administration budget Compliances
  • Budgeting & Planning capital items/equipments, manpower requirement

Inventory management optimal utilization of equipment, material and manpower

  • Monitor the Protocol /compliance for all non-medical services in the unit.
  • Facilitate Internal Audits

Ensure Service Quality-any updation/improvements required in the system

Plan and control overall administration budget Compliances. Establish and monitor process compliance

  • Short-list, train, schedule and motivate all manpower (including contracted) for all non-clinical departments (that come under incumbent's direct purview) and get maximum output with respect to time and service standards.
  • Manage inter-departmental communication; resolve disputes and/or operational working issues.

Identify needs and ensure continuing professional competence for self and staff 

Implement measures for retention of staff in conjunction with COO.

General Profile

Academic Background

  • Essential:The incumbent should be a MBBS with MBA from an international university

Experience Range Required:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience and maximum of 15 years
  • Must have 3 years of experience in an administrative capacity at a hospital of repute
