ICAP Executive Search & Selection, on behalf of its client a leading provider of accounting, tax and advisory services, is seeking for a professional to join their team in Bucharest as:

Tax Manager – BPO & Assurance Services (Ref. 6144/TAX-MGR/ESS/RO)

Responsibilities:

• Act as Professional Practice Director on all tax compliance issues, providing guidance, advice, and training to BPO and Assurance Service Lines.
• Oversee and manage all tax reporting and compliance in accordance with the Romanian Tax Code, covering income & corporate taxes, payroll, property, VAT, withholding taxes, and other applicable taxes.
• Support audit processes (external & internal) and determine actual & deferred tax provisions.
• Advise on personal income tax and social security contributions, including requirements for recruitment of EU and non-EU citizens.
• Support tax advisory services under the Fiscal Code and double taxation treaties.
• Develop, refine, and monitor control mechanisms to ensure tax compliance issues are appropriately addressed across service lines.
• Manage tax provisions, coordinate tax audits, liaise with clients’ internal and external auditors, and ensure high-quality tax compliance processes.
• Provide innovative tax planning advisory services, identifying tax savings, suggesting ways to optimize profits, and forecasting tax predictions for senior management.
• Monitor industry trends, track legislative changes, and recommend process improvements or best practices.

Requirements:

• Proven work experience as an accounting/tax manager for at least 7 years.
• Strong knowledge of Romanian accounting, taxation, and Fiscal Code; familiarity with double taxation treaties, SAF-T, transfer pricing, and VAT regulations.
• University degree in Accounting and/or graduate studies in Taxation.
• CCF qualification and CECCAR (or in progress) considered an advantage; obtaining CECCAR will be essential for advancement to an executive position.
• Excellent leadership, personnel management, and coaching skills.
• Exceptional client service skills and ability to develop strong client relationships.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple service line leaders (BPO, Assurance, Payroll, Operations) and meet strict deadlines.
