Job summary

As our next Software Support Engineer, you will provide IT technical support for automated material handling systems and equipment in warehouses and distribution centers running WAMAS® suite software, using an array of technical tools to perform complex troubleshooting and problem solving.


After a comprehensive training phase and an assisted familiarization period you will be responsible for the following core tasks:

  • Identifies and resolves issues as well as contributing to the improvement of already delivered WAMAS® systems
  • Development of automated tests (from unit tests to system tests, functional tests to load/stability tests) in order to continuously ensure the software quality
  • Creates documentation and training materials for system users and system service & maintenance
  • Effectively communicates with customers in high-impact scenarios
  • Creates documentation and training materials for system users and system service & maintenance
  • Trains internal and external customers to increase system knowledge, resolve and prevent issues from recurring
  • Properly updates help-desk ticketing system to track, monitor, and resolve issues


Skills and qualifications

  • Completed technical education in the field of software development, automation or similar
  • Profound knowledge in object-oriented programming, preferably JAVA
  • Ideally skills in Oracle, MS-SQL
  • Fascination for new tasks and enthusiasm for the implementation of technically demanding features
  • Good communication skills and good command of English
  • Good team player as part of a global distributed team.
  • Availability for on call support
