Billing and Funding within Worldpay has built a pricing and billing engine using big-data tech, we are almost at the end of the first phase of an exciting journey re-engineering our core payments platform to be more cost effective, scalable and cloud ready. The next phase of our journey is a move to the cloud, making our software cloud native, our infrastructure code and using CI/CD to increase our speed of delivery.

We are looking to hire a top-class Software Engineer Senior to help us on our journey. You need to have a strong Engineering background with experience in designing and building highly scalable, loosely coupled, event driven, distributed systems. You need to be an expert in writing Java applications using a variety persistence including database, s3 and Kafka. Experience of building production applications using AWS and EMR would be beneficial.

What you'll bring

Technical Skills

• Experience in Functional programming using Java 8 or higher
• SQL and NoSQL databases
• Knowledge of building scalable applications in AWS
• Knowledgeable on Development best practices, technologies and tools

Design/Architecture

• Knowledgeable on Service Architecture
• Knowledge on current technology architectures and approaches such as Event Driven Design, Domain Driven Design, Event Sourcing & CQRS

General

• Experience of leading change and establishing engineering best practice in technical teams
• Demonstrated accountability for a production service having contributed to that service build
• Great communication skills (written and verbal)
• Knowledgeable on BDD / TDD practices and have worked with these approaches in the past
