The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of accounting activities, reviewing the work performed by the accounting team, coordinating key accounting processes, supporting month-end and year-end close, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the finance function. The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, ownership, and the ability to coordinate accounting activities across multiple legal entities.

📋 Your Responsibilities:
- Review accounting entries, AP, AR and bank transactions prepared by Junior Accountants, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Romanian accounting legislation and internal policies.
- Review and approve monthly reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
- Coordinate and support month-end closing activities, including accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and review intercompany and client recharge calculations, supporting documentation and invoices.
- Review supplier invoices and supporting documentation prior to payment.
- Support VAT reporting, statutory declarations, audits and compliance with local accounting and tax requirements.
- Analyse financial data, explain significant variances and provide supporting documentation for management and auditors.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls and automation initiatives.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and technical support to Junior Accountants while supporting onboarding and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate closely with the Finance Director, Chief Accountant and cross-functional teams to ensure efficient financial operations.

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in accounting.
• Strong expertise in Romanian accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with SAGA software is a plus.
• Excellent analytical capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills in English.
