We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our team at Verita International School for our Campus in Tunari, Ilfov. As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of our students, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for their educational journey.
Responsibilities:
- Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff members in case of injuries or illnesses.
- Acts as a point of contact for parents in case of medical emergencies with students by informing them about the appropriate measure and requests approval from parents upon medication administration based on the child’s medical situation
- Communicate with parents regarding individual students’ health concerns (medication, allergies etc.)
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by healthcare providers and maintain accurate records.
- Assess and monitor students' health conditions, including chronic illnesses
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to create a comprehensive healthcare support system for students.
- Conduct health screenings and maintain health records for all students.
- Deliver health education programs to students, promoting healthy habits and preventive care.
- Respond to health-related emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
- Maintain first aid kits throughout the campus AND for school trips
- Communicate with parents regarding school-wide health outbreaks
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding health and safety in the school environment.
Qualifications:
- Qualified nurse (authorized according to Romanian Legislation)
- Experience in pediatric or school nursing is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of common childhood illnesses, injuries, and their treatments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff members.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate and confidential medical records.
- Understanding regulations related to school health services.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on the latest healthcare practices.
