1. Background
REDI Romania implements a portfolio of initiatives aimed at fostering Roma entrepreneurship, inclusion, and sustainable economic development.
These include:
● Seeds for Change – implemented in partnership with Patria Bank, focusing on entrepreneurship support, access to finance, and business development services for Roma communities and smallholder farmers.
● Roma Youth for Sustainable Future (RYSF) – an Erasmus+ project focused on equipping Roma youth with green, digital, and entrepreneurial skills and promoting sustainable business creation.
● Bucharest Business Hub – a strategic initiative aiming to establish the first business hub dedicated to Roma entrepreneurs:
● Pappocrafts Platform – an online marketplace supporting Roma entrepreneurs in accessing markets and promoting their products: www.pappocrafts.ro
● REDI Fund – an investment and financial instrument supporting Roma entrepreneurs:
These initiatives require a strong, coherent communication approach to:
● increase visibility and impact
● support outreach and recruitment
● strengthen partnerships and ecosystem engagement
● position REDI as a leading actor in Roma entrepreneurship
Communication activities should ensure continuous visibility, stakeholder engagement, and dissemination of results and success stories.
2. Objective of the Position
The Communication Officer will contribute to the development and implementation of communication strategies across REDI Romania’s portfolio of projects and platforms.
The role combines:
● project-level communication (Seeds for Change, RYSF)
● ecosystem-level positioning (Bucharest Business Hub, Pappocrafts, REDI Fund)
3. Key Responsibilities
A. Communication Strategy
● Contribute to and implement communication strategies for:
o Seeds for Change
o Roma Youth for Sustainable Future (Erasmus+)
● Support communication and positioning of:
o Bucharest Business Hub
o Pappocrafts platform
o REDI Fund
● Ensure alignment with EU/Erasmus+ visibility and dissemination requirements
B. Content Creation & Storytelling
● Develop high-quality content:
o social media, website, newsletters, press releases
o success stories and entrepreneur profiles
● Translate project outputs into engaging narratives
● Produce or coordinate visual and multimedia content
C. Digital Communication
● Manage and update:
o social media channels
o website/platform content
● Develop and execute content calendars
● Support campaigns targeting Roma entrepreneurs and youth
D. Stakeholder Engagement
● Coordinate communication with partners and stakeholders
● Support outreach to:
o Roma entrepreneurs and youth
o ecosystem actors (financial institutions, NGOs, private sector)
● Strengthen REDI’s visibility within the entrepreneurship ecosystem
E. Events & Campaigns
● Support communication for events, trainings, and campaigns
● Ensure visibility before, during, and after events
● Promote:
o Business Hub activities
o project milestones
o platform initiatives
F. Monitoring & Reporting
● Track communication KPIs (reach, engagement, conversions)
● Contribute to dissemination and visibility reporting
● Ensure compliance with donor requirements
4. Deliverables
● Communication strategies and plans
● Monthly content calendar
● Campaigns and communication materials
● Event communication packages
● Dissemination and visibility reports
● Communication performance tracking
5. Duration
● Contract duration: 6 months trial period, with possibility to extend on unlimited period
● Start date: 1st of May 2026
6. Qualifications & Requirements
Education
● Degree in Communications, Marketing, PR, Journalism, or related field
Experience
● 2–4 years of experience in communication (NGO / EU projects preferred)
● Experience with Erasmus+ or similar programmes is an asset
● Experience in entrepreneurship, social inclusion, or Roma-related initiatives is a strong advantage
Skills
● Excellent writing and storytelling skills (English required; Romanian is an asset)
● Strong digital communication skills
● Basic design skills (Canva/Adobe or similar)
● Strategic thinking with execution capacity
● Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
7. Reporting Line
The Communication Officer will report to:
● Communication Director
● Program Director
● Project Manager(s)
The role will involve close collaboration across teams and with external partners.
8. Location & Working Conditions
● Bucharest, Romania (hybrid possible)
● Occasional travel
