L3 DC Network Senior Engineer

Your day to day:

The L3 DC Network Senior Engineer is responsible for the daily operations and E2E infrastructure implementation of the Global Data Centre Network Infrastructure and technologies across the Vodafone Data Centre footprint. She/he is part of an international team that provides 24/7 service coverage, keeping up to date managed objects for best performance, monitor and implement customer requested solutions.

Knowledge of the network infrastructures and of the network equipment is essential to manage properly the managed networks. Troubleshooting and network analysis capabilities are required for this role. Capability to proactively analyse the infrastructure in order to prevent problems that could reduce the network performance. Essential for the role are also soft skills as team player, responsible attitude to actively drive activities to completion.

• 24x7 operations, including on-call duty of all network related components like router, switches, load balancer, firewalls etc
• Provide to support our customers with network analysis; pro-actively drive operations excellence by solving and preventing operational issues
• Actively influences operational efficiency and operability of the deployed connectivity solutions
• Seeks clarification of risks before taking action to guarantee business continuity
• Drive technical analysis, supporting NOC, but also in full collaboration with other Vodafone entities like incident management, or relevant stakeholders

With these skills you are a great candidate:

• Deep knowledge of network equipment operation (Router, Switches, Load Balancers and Firewalls) and of TCP/IP, Routing and switching Protocols OSPF, BGP, iBGP (including Cisco certifications like CCNA, CCNP)
• Deep experience and knowledge with Data Centre network environments and specific vendor products

                      - Cisco Nexus 5k, 7k families

                      - Cisco Fabric Path

                      - Cisco ACE and F5 load balancers

• Firewall and proxy knowledge is an important reference with particular attention on the analysis and debug
• Deep knowledge of telecommunications network systems and their services
• Knowledge on server Operating Systems like UNIX, Windows, etc
