Main Responsibilities

IT Systems Administration

• Maintain local IT infrastructure in Craiova, including servers, networks, storage, and endpoints.
• Support integration between Romanian, German, and Chinese IT systems.
• Coordinate with external IT partners as needed while retaining internal technical ownership.

Data Security & Compliance

• Ensure all AI and IT systems comply with ISO 27001, GDPR, and internal security policies.
• Implement user and role management, encryption, and secure data handling procedures.

Self-Hosted IT Infrastructure Development

• Design, install, and manage an on-premises GPU-based server environment for AI workloads.
• Plan and implement secure network, storage, and backup concepts for AI and data processing systems.

RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) System Implementation

• Implement and maintain a self-hosted RAG architecture
• Check and test existing of the shelf RAG solutions, e.g. Tobit, SideKick Server, ACP AI Companion,...
• Develop pipelines for ingesting and embedding company documents (offers, specifications, manuals, engineering files).
• Integrate LLMs (open-source or licensed) into internal workflows for knowledge retrieval, text generation, and automation.

AI Application Development

• Implement AI assistants to support Management, Engineering and Sales
• Support to develop tools for automated data sheets and offer generation for standard generators, motor and electrical power systems.
• Implement AI modules to automatically create technically correct offers.

Additional Responsibilities

• Create internal guidelines and documentation for AI usage, data workflows, and IT procedures.
• Train employees in Romania, Germany, and China on new systems and AI workflows.
• Support Quality department when conducting regular system audits and ISO27001 risk assessments
• Provide a monthly reporting (KPI): AI performance, IT and project progress.

Cooperation and Communication

• Report to the Managing Directors.
• Close coordination with Romanian, German Engineering, Sales, IT partners and Chinese colleagues for data and software integration
• Communication with external software providers, hardware partners, and AI technology vendors.

Special Assignments / Training Program

• Initial onboarding (4 weeks) in Ingolstadt, Germany.
• Regular business travel to Germany for coordination and IT trainings.
• Periodic visits to production sites in Wuxi and Wuhan in China, to support IT

Performance Targets

• Reliable and secure operation of the AI and IT infrastructure.
• Successful deployment of a functional self-hosted RAG system within defined milestones.
• High availability and performance of server systems and internal AI tools.
• Measurable support for Sales and Engineering through process automation and AI-based tools.
• Knowledge transfer to internal teams to build an AI-driven engineering and sales culture.

Your Profile

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT Systems Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or related
• Experience in IT infrastructure, server administration, or AI/ML engineering.
• Good understanding of cybersecurity, networks, and system architecture.
• Hands-on experience with:
• • Linux servers (Ubuntu/Debian)
  • Networking/Security (VPN, Firewall, TLS), Backup Monitoring
  • GPU systems (e.g. NVIDIA)
  • LLM platforms & frameworks, Vector databases,Python
• Basic knowledge about RAG systems or NLP applications (Embeddings, Vector Search, Retrieval)
• Software and user experience, which is nice to have: Gemini incl. Code Assist, ChatGPT, Anthropic: Claude, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, Observability Stack, HuggingFace, LangChain/Graph, LlamaIndex, Haystack, Qdrant, Milvus, Weaviate, GitLab, Github, Tabnine Enterprise.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher, German is an asset.
