We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Hygiene Specialist to join our team. As an Industrial Hygiene Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees by identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace hazards with focus on chemical products. The role is split between 75% industrial hygiene and 25% occupational safety and  will report to the Environmental and Prevention Manager. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow the evolution of legal requirements and ensure that they are complied with in the plant;
• Conducts investigations of working conditions in places of employment for the prevention of occupational disease and industrial health hazards, with specific reference to toxic substances, noise, and harmful physical agents;
• Participates in special studies and monitoring programs to determine environmental conditions;
• Make inventory of chemical products present in the plant and authorize their use;
• Intervenes as an expert in the relationship with the social partners and state control authorities in the  areas of responsibility;
• Develops awareness and training programs for staff (industrial hygiene and environmental protection);

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Industrial Safety Engineering or related field;
• Experience in the industrial fields of Environmental Protection, Health and Safety and/or Quality Management System for at least 2 years, ensuring relationship with the authorities;
• Proven experience in conducting industrial hygiene assessments and implementing control measures is an advantage;
• Strong technical knowledge in chemistry;
• Critical thinking and decision-making under pressure;
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail;
• Team player with good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, capable to influencing behaviors;
• Ability to plan and organise time effectively;
• Hands-on approach and willingness to spend 50% of the working time in the production area;
• Fluent in English or French;
