As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced HR Manager & Operations Compliance professional to support our people, processes, and organisational development.
The Role
This is a strategic and operational role responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle, supporting organisational growth, strengthening internal processes, and ensuring compliance with employment and operational requirements.
The successful candidate will work closely with leadership to attract, develop, and retain talent while maintaining high standards of professionalism, accountability, and operational excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job advertising, candidate sourcing, interviewing, selection, and onboarding.
- Collaborate with department managers to identify workforce requirements.
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract high-performing talent.
- Support employer branding and talent retention initiatives.
Employee Relations & HR Operations
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters.
- Support managers in handling employee performance, wellbeing, and workplace concerns.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing workplace culture.
Learning & Development
- Identify organisational training and development needs.
- Coordinate induction and onboarding programmes for new employees.
- Support employee development plans and career progression initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of learning and development activities.
Performance Management
- Support the implementation of performance management and appraisal processes.
- Assist managers in setting objectives and managing employee performance.
- Develop initiatives that improve engagement, productivity, and retention.
- Monitor performance trends and recommend improvement strategies.
Operations Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with Romanian employment legislation for local staff and applicable UK employment practices.
- Maintain HR policies, procedures, employee handbooks, and internal documentation.
- Ensure GDPR and data protection requirements are followed in relation to employee records and HR processes.
- Monitor employment contracts, contractor agreements, and personnel documentation.
- Maintain accurate HR records and support internal audits and compliance reviews.
- Ensure adherence to organisational policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Support compliance requirements related to university partnerships and organisational obligations.
Strategic HR Responsibilities
- Support leadership with workforce planning and organisational development initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of HR systems, policies, and processes.
- Prepare HR reports and metrics to support decision-making.
- Lead HR projects that support business growth and operational excellence.
RequirementsEssential
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Human Resources, Recruitment, Operations Compliance, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices and employment legislation.
- Proven experience managing recruitment processes from sourcing through onboarding.
- Experience handling employee relations and performance management matters.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to process improvement.
Desirable
- Experience within education, student recruitment, consultancy, or service-based organisations.
- Experience developing HR policies, procedures, and operational processes.
- CIPD qualification or equivalent HR certification.
- Experience working with remote or international teams.
