The primary mission is to conduct independent assessments of the framework implemented by the First Line of Defense (1LOD) to manage risks related to data quality, in accordance with defined methodologies.

Independent assessment challenges are conducted by a small team of 4 FTE in Paris to be extended with one more FTE in Bucharest.  The team produce annually 100 to 150 deliverables. Each supervisor is responsible for his/her own analysis and challenge memo delivery.

The person to be recruited will join the team as a supervisor and will be responsible for delivering challenges:

  • Evaluating the integration of data quality risks into non-financial risk management frameworks (e.g., Permanent Control, ICCC, RCSA, Losses & Incidents, etc.)
  • Assessing the deployment and effective implementation of the data management framework across the Group, and its operational efficiency
  • Ensuring that data risk is considered in upstream risk assessments for major transformations (e.g., M&A, Project Management, NPSC, OS, etc.)
  • Challenging how business lines identify, assess and mitigate data-related risks through the above-mentioned mechanisms
  • Verifying the definition and effective implementation of action plans addressing significant risk areas

This mission is delivered through defined deliverables and contributions:

  • Providing challenge analysis of data quality risk assessments into non-financial risk management frameworks, on request of framework owner
  • Providing challenge analysis of data management framework deployment and execution, based on analysis of data management framework elements such as KDO (key regulatory and risk reporting reports and metrics, key risk management models) quality scoring, CDE (critical data elements) control monitoring and lineage, data quality issues closures, according to annual plan
  • Contributing to alert escalation and changes recommendation in case of significant risk identification or potential/existing breaches of risk appetite

Independent assessment team liaise with KDO and CDE owner, in all BU and SU, but mainly in DFIN; RISQ and CPLE department., Chief data officers, data quality managers in all BU/SU, GCO/CDO.

PROFILE REQUIRED

  • Master’s degree (Bac +5) from a business school, engineering school, or university, ideally with a specialization in risk management, data management, finance, or audit;
  • French business: fluent in spoken communication ;
  • English business: proficient in written communication, especially for opinion memo
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience;
  • Strong knowledge and experience on data management (design, quality), BCBS 239 RDARR compliance project deployment, and ideally knowledge in financial and risk reporting Good analytical skills (including data processing and data analysis)
  • High level of adaptability to evolving contexts and cross-functional collaboration
  • Assertiveness to challenge constructively, state and defend an independent opinion and drive decisions
  • Demonstrated autonomy in managing complex topics and delivering results
  • Excellent team spirit, with the ability to work collectively toward shared objectives and mission delivery (Paris/Bucharest)
