We are looking for a Construction Procurement Engineer to join our industrial manufacturing facility in Pitești, Romania. The role focuses on procurement, contract management, and cost control for construction-related works and services within a factory environment, working closely with site teams and the Central Engineering Department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and implement procurement strategies for construction-related materials and services (civil works, steel, concrete, electrical and mechanical components).
• Lead tendering processes, evaluate bids, and negotiate commercial and contractual terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare, manage, and track initial and closing budgets; perform budget comparison analyses.
• Monitor monthly payment progress, supplier invoices, and contract compliance.
• Issue purchase orders and follow up on deliveries to ensure timely and cost-effective execution.
• Coordinate closely with site engineers, project managers, finance, and central engineering teams.
• Support technical discussions by providing commercial and contractual input.
• Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, cost, and delivery schedules.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
• Identify market trends, alternative suppliers, and value-improvement opportunities.
• Prepare regular procurement, cost, and supplier performance reports for management
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial construction, factory projects, or large-scale industrial facilities.
• Strong background in construction procurement, contracts, and cost control.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office applications; experience with MS Project or Primavera is a strong advantage.
• Experience with ERP systems and digital procurement tools.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Team-oriented, solution-focused, and able to work effectively in cross-functional environments.
• Strong awareness of and commitment to Occupational Health and Safety (HSE) culture.
• Possession of a Class B driving license and active driving ability is preferred.
• Fluent English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
• Ability to work full-time on-site in an industrial manufacturing environment.
