Estate Management is looking to recruit a full time Receptionist to be based at the Alison Richard Building, the building at the gateway of the Sidgwick site and an exciting hub for teaching and research in the arts, humanities and social sciences. The ARB is the Faculty home and main teaching base for the Department of Politics and International Studies (POLIS), including African Studies, South Asian Studies, Latin American Studies and Development Studies. It also houses the Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (CRASSH), an interdisciplinary research centre that organises over 300 lectures, conferences and workshops each year.
The role holder will provide a helpful and efficient reception service which will include receiving and processing deliveries, assisting with the seminar room administration, arranging customer visits and conducting 'show-rounds' and liaising with the catering contractor. The role holder will also be responsible for maintaining various database systems and providing a secretarial and general administrative service to the administration team as required.
The successful applicant will be well organised, flexible in approach and demonstrate excellent customer service skills. They will also be prepared to work on their own initiative with the ability to prioritise work and be proficient in using a number of IT packages.
