You will assist in the development and delivery of high quality and customer-focused library services which support the academic activities of the University and its constituent Colleges.
Key components of the role include being responsible for academic support for specified courses/programmes of study, and participating in the promotion of resources, collections and services through effective academic liaison and information dissemination.
You will participate in course committees/programme boards and establish constructive working relationships with staff responsible for curriculum development and the delivery of courses. You will assist in the provision of enquiry services and develop learning materials which encourage the use of resources and services.
This role primarily supports information skills provision at London College of Communication but you may be required to support any service functional area within Library Services.
You will also be responsible for supervising the shelving team at London College of Communication.
Working pattern for this post is currently Monday - Friday with one evening per week until during undergraduate term, and until one or more times a week outside undergraduate term. Candidates must be able to commit to this to be considered.
With a degree in Library and Information Management or equivalent at Graduate or Postgraduate level, you will have demonstrable experience of working in library or customer service environment.
With experience of providing guidance to support the diverse needs of library users you will be able to communicate accurate and relevant information regarding services and systems in a manner that demonstrates effective interpersonal skills and an understanding of the academic context of the University.
