GEN-I's operations are based on the principles set out in the memorandum of association, which was drafted in 2006 by shareholders Istrabenz-Gorenje, d.o.o. (renamed IG energetski sistemi, d.o.o. in 2011 following changes in its ownership structure) and GEN energija, d.o.o. Both shareholders have equal 50% stakes in the company.
The company's governance is based on an effective combination of the management, governance and control functions. The Group's success is apparent in all of its previous profit and loss statements, which are summed up in individual annual reports.
